From Mighty Forest to Pulp

PreviousForestry truck transporting treesNext

A truck brings in new trees to be made into pulp at a plant near Prince George (British Columbia, Canada). Admittedly, the province has enormous forests, but the rate at which they are cut, as well as the way in which this happens, is shocking and in almost all cases unsustainable. Replanting after clearcutting and selective cutting are often seen as ways to make forestry sustainable, but they all have their own big problems. I will hopefully be able to publish more about this soon.
