Elk
A group of elk feeding in the fresh snow fallen on the 20th of October. Two days later, most of the snow was gone again and you could walk outside in just a T-shirt. The wildlife is definitely preparing for winter though. The elk will have to eat as much as they can before permanent snow falls, which will make finding food a lot harder. Especially the males need to regain their strength, because the rutting season is only just over. They have been busy herding their group and chasing off other males without hardly taking the time to eat. If they do not get some fat on them now, their chance to get through winter is slim.
